In this paper we are presenting how the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) combines three diverse authentication methods for Wifi usage:

1. Web page redirection method
2. VPN/IPSEC method
3. 802.1x method

We are describing how we integrate under the same equipment the above three methods and how we offer a unified user experience, while using open source tools for the implementation of the three methods.

We are proposing a new method for VPN/IPSEC tunnel setup (still under development) by setting up the IPSEC tunnel parameters through a user friendly web page.

Finally, we describe how we exploit the 802.1x method for user authentication by using PAP-TTLS over radius, in order to exploit NTUAs LDAP/Radius infrastructure.
