Juan Quemada is Professor in Telematics Engineering at the Telematic Systems Engineering Department (DIT) of the Telecom Engineering School (ETSIT) of Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM). His research interest is focussed in new applications and services for the Next Generation Internet, especially in computer based training/education, distributed applications and the new Internet Architecture (IPv6, the new Web, Internet Multimedia Architecture, etc.). He is the leader of the team which has developed the Isabel Application (http://isabel.dit.upm.es), holds the Telefonica Chair for the Next Generation Internet at UPM (http://internetng.dit.upm.es/english/index.html), is the chair of the EducaNext Steering Committee (http://www.educanext.org), is the representative of UPM in the W3C Advisory Committee, has a strong involvement in European as well as Spanish research projects (Euro6IX, LONG, MIND, UNIVERSAL, ELENA, SABA, ISAIAS, SAM, ..) and has authored a variety of publications in networking and protocols, formal methods, distributed application and service design, multimedia applications or computer based training.
